Takira utilizes her well-rounded experience to create in-depth, unique defenses tailored to each specific matter at hand and prides herself on keeping on open line of communication with her clients working diligently on each individual case.
Prior to joining Shaub, Ahmuty, Citrin & Spratt in 2021, Takira worked for the New York City Law Department Office of Corporation Counsel as Senior Counsel in the Special Litigation Unit, where she handled a variety of tort cases that presented the most high profile and highest-financial exposure to the City of New York as well as Assistant Corporation Counsel within the Special State Law Enforcement Defense Unit, where she defended the City’s Police Department and officers in cases alleging malicious prosecution, false arrest and excessive force. Prior to working within the New York City Law Department, Takira spent approximately two years prosecuting child abuse and neglect cases within the Family Court Legal Services Division of the New York City Administration for Children's Services.
While in law school, Takira interned as a Judicial Extern Honors student for United States Magistrate Judge Lois Bloom for the Eastern District of New York, was a Case Note and Comment Editor of the Pace Law Review and served on the Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial team. Additionally, Takira assisted in coaching the Brooklyn Latin High School’s mock trial team, guiding the team to place in the Top 16 at the NYC High School Mock Trial Tournament for the 2020-2021 competition year, something she credits as one of the most rewarding experiences.
