Overview
Katarina Goberdhan focuses on defending healthcare providers in complex medical malpractice litigation. Her experience spans various areas, including healthcare law, insurance claims, and patient advocacy.
Prior to joining the firm, Katarina gained substantial legal experience through several positions. She was a student attorney in the Consumer Justice for the Elderly: Litigation Clinic at St. John’s University School of Law, advocating for elderly clients facing consumer-related issues. At St. John’s, she also worked as a Law Clerk at a small multidisciplinary firm in New York for over two years, honing her litigation and case management skills.
In addition to her clerkship, Katarina was the Alumni & Diversity Editor for the New York International Law Review, contributing to scholarly legal discussions and supporting diversity initiatives. Her previous roles also included Administrative Assistant at an international legal search firm, where she developed strong organizational and administrative skills.
Katarina also completed an internship at New York-Presbyterian Hospital in the Outpatient Oncology division, where she assisted in assessing and submitting claims to Medicare and insurance companies. She further demonstrated her commitment to advocacy early on as a Volunteer Advocate for the Nassau County District Attorney’s Youth Court/Peer Diversion Court program, where she acted as a defense or community advocate in cases involving minors charged with misdemeanors and felonies.
She is an active member of the New York State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
