Unanimous Defense Verdict in Suffolk County
Shaub, Ahmuty, Citrin & Spratt, LLP Senior Trial Partner, William Spratt, and Of Counsel, Dominique Chin, were able to secure a speedy unanimous defense verdict in Suffolk County on behalf of our client, a cardiologist.
This case involved allegations of negligence in the assessment and work-up of a 43-year-old male that led to his death due to an allegedly undiagnosed aortic rupture, leaving behind his wife and two minor children.
Specifically, the plaintiff’s attorney asserted that there was a failure to communicate the significance of the decedent’s echocardiogram results that revealed a mildly dilated aorta and a failure to order CT imaging.
With the assistance of experts in cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery, the jury ultimately concurred that our client’s actions were entirely within the standard of care and promptly returned a defense verdict.
