William Spratt Obtains Defense Verdict in Westchester County

In March 2019 William Spratt obtained a defense verdict in Westchester County in a medically complex matter where the plaintiff experienced multiple complications during elective cataract surgery leading to three additional procedures and a partial corneal transplant. Through a well-credentialed expert, Mr. Spratt argued the surgical technique of the defendant was appropriate; the equally credentialed plaintiff expert admitted in the best of situations – including during his own surgeries – complications can occur. A unanimous defense verdict was returned.
