Jason Corrado Opens 2020 With A Unanimous Defense Verdict

In January 2020, Jason Corrado, with the assistance of Mark Khavkin, secured a unanimous defense verdict in a jury trial in Suffolk Country before the Hon. Carmen St. George.  The case involved allegations of negligence in the performance of a laparoscopic cholecystectomy by our defendant surgeon, resulting in a transection of the common bile duct with additional claims of a failure to timely recognize and treat.   Despite being asked to award the plaintiff $3 million in damages, the jury concluded that severance of the common bile duct was an unavoidable risk of the procedure, and issued a verdict for the defense.
